Data Retention Policy
Staark keeps parent and child-related information only as long as reasonably needed for service, security, billing, support, and operational purposes.
Effective Date: June 10, 2026
Users can download their data before deleting an account. Account deletion cancels active subscriptions first when an active subscription is found.
1. Overview
Staark generally keeps information only as long as reasonably needed to provide the service, maintain security, comply with legal or billing obligations, resolve disputes, and improve the platform.
Retention may vary depending on the type of information, account status, operational needs, and legal, security, billing, or dispute-related requirements.
2. Account Information
Account information such as name, email address, profile details, and account settings is generally retained while the account is active.
This information helps Staark provide account access, support, personalization, billing workflows, and user preferences.
3. Child-Related Information Entered by Parents
Child profile details, parent intake responses, academic or behavioral concerns, goals, plans, reflections, progress records, and messages are generally retained while the account is active.
Staark uses this information to provide personalized support, continuity, saved progress, and parent-facing planning tools.
4. AI-Generated Plans and Recommendations
AI-generated plans, recommendations, implementation history, and reflections may be retained to support continuity of the parent experience.
Keeping this history helps Staark show prior plans, track progress, support reflection, and avoid restarting the parent experience unnecessarily.
5. Billing and Subscription Records
Stripe handles payments, subscriptions, invoices, and billing management for Staark.
Staark does not store full payment card numbers.
Some billing-related records may remain in Stripe for payment, tax, accounting, fraud prevention, chargeback, or legal reasons even after a Staark account is deleted.
6. Cookies, Logs, and Security Records
Technical logs, session records, security events, and similar operational records may be retained for a limited period as needed to operate, secure, debug, and protect the platform.
These records may help Staark investigate errors, detect misuse, maintain service reliability, and protect account access.
7. Account Deletion
Users can delete their account from settings.
When an account is deleted, active subscriptions are canceled first when an active subscription is found.
Staark deletes user-owned account records from its application database, including associated account, child-related, plan, reflection, progress, and message records where supported by the deletion workflow.
Some limited records may be retained where required for security, legal, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or billing purposes.
8. Data Export
Users can download their data before deletion using the data export feature in account settings.
The export feature is designed to help parents review account, child-related, plan, reflection, progress, message, and feedback data associated with their account.
9. Deletion Requests
Users can contact support@staarkai.com to request deletion or ask questions about retained data.
10. Limits of Deletion
Some information may not be immediately removable from backups, logs, billing systems, or records required for legal, security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or operational reasons.
Staark works to limit retention to what is reasonably necessary for the service, account support, security, billing, and legal or operational requirements.
